| Biography |
Born in Manila, Philippines, David Hill began drawing at an
early age. Through art classes in high
school he picked up painting and various other mediums, and he went on to study
art at Shorter College in Rome, Georgia.
During his college career Hill won several awards for his painting,
including the first place award at a statewide college juried exhibition hosted
by The Art Place in Marietta, Georgia.
In 2005, Hill graduated with a BFA in Studio Art, and he is currently
applying to go to graduate school in order to further his training and give him
the ability to teach in a college setting.
The focus of Hill’s work is on the human figure. He is interested in the expressiveness of
the human form and how manipulating the color and texture can enhance the
emotive qualities and impact of the painting.
Texture is one of the most important aspects of his work, giving each painting
a depth and dynamic that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. His ultimate goal is to make powerful visual
experiences that impact the audience in an emotional and intellectual way.
